Brand & creative

Your next campaign needs a point of view.

Your next campaign needs a point of view.

Your next campaign needs a point of view.

Before you make more assets, decide what the campaign is trying to say—and why anyone should care.

Ideas and observations on the thinking behind the work.

Start with the choice.

A campaign often begins with a list: a launch film, a landing page, a set of paid ads, a few social posts. The list is useful for production. It does not tell the team what the work should mean.

A point of view makes a choice. It says who the work is for, what tension it responds to and what the brand believes about that tension. Without that choice, every asset has to invent its own reason to exist.

Make the idea specific enough to use.

A broad ambition such as “help people feel confident” leaves almost every creative direction open. A more useful starting point describes a real situation: the person, the moment and the barrier between them and the next step.

That specificity gives the team a way to judge the work. Does the headline address the barrier? Does the image belong to the moment? Does the call to action move the person forward? The questions are practical because the idea is practical.

Build a system, not a single hero.

A strong campaign idea should survive a change in format. It can be expressive in a large image, precise in a short ad and useful on a landing page. The expression changes; the organising thought remains.

Create a small set of rules for voice, composition and message order. Then make the assets together. Reviewing a campaign as a connected sequence often reveals gaps that are invisible when each placement is approved on its own.

Give the work a learning question.

A point of view is still a hypothesis. Before launch, name what you want to learn: whether the audience understands the offer, whether a message attracts qualified interest or whether a page answers a recurring question.

The question connects creative ambition with a decision. It gives the next review something more useful to discuss than whether the campaign feels busy enough. Start with a clear idea, give it a clear job and leave space to learn.
